You can provide vital support to help students thrive

On October 19th, I sent you an envelope. Inside was a chance to contribute to your school programming in a new way. Contributing in this direct way is the best way we know how to ensure the success of our programs. If you don't know where that envelope went, you can download the response sheet here. Thank you again for your consideration! - Bill

Dear Victory Parent,

You care about your kids. You want to do everything you can for them.

When you send them off to school in the morning you want your kids and their teachers to have the best tools possible to ensure a rich, vibrant scholastic experience. But you can’t do that alone.

What happens when we work together?

Since my children started at Victory, I found out that it was your school council that matched dollar for dollar, the school’s music budget enabling the school to purchase real musical instruments and providing funds for a ukelele coach. Council provided the funding for each class to have a scientist-in-the-school visit. Your council also provided nutritious food like apples and snacks for students that are hungry. These are just a few of many examples. Your council earned my loyalty and I had to become involved, and now I want to tell you about what comes next.

It is a time of need and a time of great excitement. Last year council worked hard to identify areas that mattered so we could make the best use of our budget. We are excited for what’s in store for 2015/16, but these amazing ideas can’t happen without your support:

Victory’s Music Program: School Council needs money to maintain the excellence of the music program that was initiated last year. Money raised pays for a ukulele instructor and for instruments.

Guest Artists and Teachers: School Council supports many enrichment opportunities for our children. Scientists in the School, Kids Make Guelph, local artists and Enrichment Clusters are just a few of the ways that Council strives to provide engaging and educational experiences for all children.

School Resources:  School Council supplements school programs and resources. This year we plan to fund projectors, literacy kits, sports equipment, library books, and much more. We also help fund important school programs such as the Forest of Reading Program.

These are only a few of the projects we are working on. Council needs funding to ensure they can happen this year and you can help get us there.

Will you consider a gift of $25, $50 or even $150 today?

This year you can make a difference in a very effective way. It’s true that spinning a cake wheel or buying a raffle ticket or magazine subscription can make a difference, but this is an opportunity to give now and ensure our programs can proceed.

You can make this happen with your most generous gift today. Please make your gift before December 31st to ensure a project can continue.

Thank you so very much for your consideration and support.

For the students,

Bill Whitehead
